About Dane
I'm Dr. Dane Brown, a board-certified emergency medicine physician, Navy veteran, former firefighter/paramedic, and Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. My path through public service, EMS, fire, and emergency medicine has shaped a practical, decisive, and insight-driven approach to health and human performance.
As the co-founder of LESS RX Health Coaching, I bring physician-level clinical understanding into a coaching model designed for real, lasting transformation. After years caring for patients in high-acuity emergency settings, I've come to a clear conclusion: most chronic disease is not destiny—it is deeply connected to habits, patterns, and environment. People don't need more prescriptions; they need clarity, structure, and a guide who understands what actually works.
And as a father of three, I fully understand how chaotic, demanding, and unpredictable real life can be. Sustainable health change must survive busy schedules, parenting, stress, shift work, and competing priorities. My coaching is built around real life, not ideal circumstances.
My style is straightforward, evidence-based, and deeply practical. LESS RX exists to help people build metabolic strength and reclaim their health through the habits that matter most.
Philosophy of Care
Lifestyle Medicine at the Core: The Big Three as the Foundation of Reversal
My care philosophy is rooted in lifestyle medicine, emphasizing the Big Three pillars that drive most health outcomes: Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Sleep.
While all 6 are important, these three—when aligned—have the power to improve or reverse many chronic conditions without reliance on escalating medications.
Nutrition — Your Biochemical Foundation
Food shapes inflammation, blood sugar, energy, and long-term metabolic resilience. I guide clients toward sustainable, whole-food dietary patterns, protein prioritization, and blood sugar stability—strategies that fit real life and produce measurable outcomes.
Physical Activity — Strength, Longevity, and Metabolic Power
Movement is medicine, but intentional movement is transformative. My programs integrate strength training, conditioning, mobility, and daily steps to build confidence, capability, and metabolic efficiency.
Sleep — The Engine of Restoration and Hormonal Balance
Quality sleep regulates appetite, immune function, mood, glucose control, and recovery. We anchor sleep routines to circadian principles, recovery science, and stress reduction to amplify progress across all other habits.
The Physician-Coach Model
My hybrid model delivers the insight of a physician with the practicality of a coach—not replacing primary care, but bridging the gap between medical knowledge and real-world behavior change.
As a physician-coach, I:
- Use labs and wearable metrics to guide behavior-based strategies
- Build individualized monthly action plans
- Identify red flags early and maintain safety
- Coordinate with primary medical teams when needed
- Provide accountability, structure, and clarity
- Translate complex physiology into simple, executable habits
The goal is simple: Less reliance on medications. More metabolic capacity. More life.
